Read the descriptions below to see if a position might be of interest to you. Elected officers serve to support ALL Northwood Band Programs including but not limited to: Marching Band/Color Guard, Percussion Theater, Winter Guard, Concert/Symphonic/Jazz Bands
President

- Preside at all Board and general membership meetings
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas prior to meetings
- Ex-officio member of standing committees with the exception of the Nominating Committee
- Signs or approves all contracts on behalf of the organization
- Writes and/or signs checks and makes payments on behalf of the organization
- Shall keep all contracts on file for the current and preceding three years
- Coordinate all competition/event day activities with Band Director and appropriate Committee Chairs to build and execute plan and schedule for competition/event
- Communicate to membership as needed via Charms on all booster related news
- Perform duties as indicated to the office
Vice President

- Act as Chairperson of the Fundraising Committee
- Preside at the meetings of the board and general membership in the absence of the President
- Perform other duties as indicated to the office of the President in absence of that officer or disability of the President
- Handle special projects assigned by the Band Director or President
Second Vice President

- Act as Chairperson of the Transportation Committee
- Preside at meetings in the absence of the President and First Vice President
- Perform other duties as indicated by the office of the President and First Vice President in the absence or disability of either officer
Secretary

- Record attendance, minutes, decisions, and actions at all Board and general membership meetings
- Distribute minutes of all meetings as well as all necessary band related information.
- Maintain all records of the Booster organization to include, but not limited to:
- Organization Forming Documents (1023 Application for Tax Exemption, IRS Determination Letter for Tax Exemptions, Articles of Incorporation, etc.)
- All meeting minutes
- Membership Roster
- Signed copies from Board Members of Conflict of Interest, Code of Conduct, and Acknowledgement of Obligations forms
- Make all records listed above available for inspection by a member of the organization on demand
Treasurer

- Act as Chairperson for the Finance Committee
- Collect dues, fundraising monies, and other revenue
- Pay bills and other obligations, if given check signing ability
- Keep accurate records of receipts and disbursements
- Provide financial reports for the general membership and the Board
- Prepare projected annual budget for the Board to recommend to the membership for approval
- Report delinquent dues/fees to the President and First Vice President
- Prepare all required tax forms
- Drafts statements of work for all contracted employees of the Boosters in cooperation with the Band Director
- Work with Band Director to conduct annual inventory and assessment of all Booster owned instruments and equipment
- Maintain all financial records for the organization for a minimum of seven years
- Serve as the registered agent for the organization with the North Carolina Secretary of State (an update must be filed with the SoS for each change of registered agent)
Sergeant at Arms

- Maintain all medical and registration paperwork
- Maintain accurate and up to date student and Booster member roster
- Ensure all band volunteers are registered and approved through Chatham County Schools
- Ensure all volunteer or Booster bus drivers are approved by Chatham County by coordinating with the Vice Principal of Northwood High School
Communications Officer

- Act as Chairperson of the Communications Committee
- Ensure that relevant information is made available to the membership, the school, and the public
- Manage or coordinate the Booster website and social media presence to include moderating any online discussion
