Thrift Shop2020-21 PTA Thrift Shop volunteer opportunities are currently suspended. Information will be posted here when/if volunteer opportunities become available.

Volunteers support the NHS Band Programs at any of the three Chatham PTA Thrift Shops. Volunteer hours equate to dollars that are sent directly to NHS Bands General Fund or into individual student’s fair share accounts when recorded into the appropriate logbooks at the store.

When you sign the book for thrift shop hours, write the name of the student who should get the credit for your work EVEN IF YOU ARE WORKING FOR YOURSELF. Write the name and “NHS Band” each time and for each person working. If you do not specify, we are unable to credit those hours.

UNC CONCESSIONSCurrently suspended due to COVID-19.

UNC Concessions has historically been one of the marching band’s biggest fundraising opportunities. Students, parents, and friends can all sign up to volunteer at the concessions and earn money toward their student’s fair share obligation. Many of our students find working at the concessions to be the most enjoyable fundraiser that the band has because it is easy and fun. Dates to work may be found on the NHS Bands Calendar.

To be eligible to volunteer to work at the UNC Concessions, all students, parents, family, and friends have to complete the necessary Aramark paperwork. Normally, the paperwork/ background check is completed within a week but don’t wait –
fill it out today and turn the completed forms in to Mr. Freeman.

Sign-up for the 2020 UNC Concessions [signup link will appear here]

Please complete the following paperwork:

  • Yamaha Xylophone – used one for sale from Colts. I called Colts to get a price and the owner is on vacation, but they ballparked it at around $2,450 (new ones are ~$6k). Ours is in disrepair and really needs to be replaced
  • Yamaha Concert Bells x 2 – again the owner is on vacation and they don’t list the price on the Colts website (new these range in price from $600 to $1,000). We currently have 2 and they’re in salvage condition.
  • Yamaha Gold Vibe from Boston Crusaders at $4,350 (this would replace our broken Musser vibe)
  • Yamaha 4.5 Octave marimba from Boston Crusaders at $6,400 (we have 2, Amy says we really need 3)
